What Is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is FDA-approved under the brand name Egrifta for the treatment of HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Research-grade tesamorelin exists in a separate market and is not FDA-approved for general use. This guide covers reconstitution and dosing math for lyophilized research-grade tesamorelin only.
Tesamorelin works by stimulating the pituitary gland to release growth hormone in a pulsatile pattern similar to natural GHRH signaling. It has been studied in clinical research primarily for its effects on visceral fat reduction.
