Tesamorelin Dosage & Reconstitution Guide
Reconstitution math, syringe draw reference, and dosing protocols — everything in one place.
What Is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is FDA-approved under the brand name Egrifta for the treatment of HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Research-grade tesamorelin exists in a separate market and is not FDA-approved for general use. This guide covers reconstitution and dosing math for lyophilized research-grade tesamorelin only.
Tesamorelin works by stimulating the pituitary gland to release growth hormone in a pulsatile pattern similar to natural GHRH signaling. It has been studied in clinical research primarily for its effects on visceral fat reduction.
This guide is for research purposes only and does not apply to the FDA-approved pharmaceutical product Egrifta, which is available by prescription and comes pre-formulated.
Common Research Doses
| Research application | Dose range | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Standard research protocol | 1–2 mg | Once daily |
| Clinical trial dose reference | 2 mg | Once daily |
Tesamorelin is dosed in milligrams (mg). Most research protocols follow once-daily subcutaneous administration, commonly before sleep.
