MOTS-c Dosage & Reconstitution Guide
Reconstitution math, syringe draw reference, and dosing protocols — everything in one place.
What Is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA-c) is a peptide encoded by mitochondrial DNA. It has been investigated in preclinical research for its potential roles in metabolic regulation, insulin sensitivity, and exercise adaptation. MOTS-c has attracted research interest in the longevity and metabolic health research communities. It is not approved by the FDA for human use and is classified as a research chemical.
Preclinical research has examined MOTS-c's potential effects on AMPK activation, a cellular energy-sensing pathway, as well as its potential role in mitigating age-related metabolic decline in animal models.
Common Research Doses
| Research application | Dose range | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| General metabolic research | 5–10 mg | 2–3 times weekly |
| Exercise adaptation focus | 10 mg | 3 times weekly |
| Lower range | 5 mg | Twice weekly |
MOTS-c is dosed in milligrams (mg), unlike smaller peptides such as BPC-157 which use micrograms.
