What Is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist originally developed by Novo Nordisk. It has been investigated extensively in clinical research for its effects on glycemic control and body weight reduction. Semaglutide is available in FDA-approved pharmaceutical forms under brand names including Ozempic and Wegovy. Compounded and research-grade semaglutide exists in a separate market and is not FDA-approved. This guide covers the reconstitution and dosing math for lyophilized research-grade semaglutide only.
Semaglutide Titration Schedule
Standard Titration Protocol
Semaglutide requires a gradual titration to minimize gastrointestinal side effects including nausea and vomiting. Advancing too quickly is the most common reason researchers discontinue prematurely.

Do not advance the dose if nausea is significant or food intake is severely reduced. Holding at a lower dose for an additional 4 weeks is preferable to discontinuing.
